COCOON
2023 | German Valenzuela
This project started as an exploration of how recycled materials could be transformed into immersive, cocoon-like structures. I was inspired by weaving and wood-bending techniques and chose bamboo for its natural flexibility. Using three hexagonal rings that I cut and drilled, I gradually bent the bamboo through them to form a modular framework. After building the model, I reimagined the structure as booth seating for a restaurant, translating the concept into a functional,
human-scale design.
